Debt Caseworker

Hours: 14 per week
Remuneration: Scale 6 – spinal point 18 – 22 pro rata (£9,618 – £10,410 pa)
Start date: early October 2022
Funding Duration: 3 years

Citizens Advice Bromsgrove & Redditch are partnering with Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (BDHT) and are seeking a Debt worker to join our Debt unit and support their clients. This is a new and exciting project that definitely has the potential to grow and develop over time.

We are seeking someone to draw up financial statements; write letters and negotiate on behalf of clients where needed; and to draw up DRO submissions where necessary.

The post will be partially based at the BDHT Offices and partly based at our own office, 30 minutes walk/10 minutes drive away. It is envisaged that the 14hrs will be worked over two days of the week but we can be reasonably flexible over which days those are.

Successful applicants will need at least one years of experience of supporting clients to manage their debts, including the letter writing and negotiations. Previous experience as a DRO intermediary would be desirable.

You will also need to be a strong team player as you will be an ambassador for our service with the Housing trust itself. You will be comfortable working at a distance from your immediate supervision and support.

If this post is of interest to you, and you have the necessary debt advice experience, please e-mail your updated CV and a covering letter to enquiries@cabr.org.uk using the e-mail title “Debt caseworker vacancy”.

Applications close at 3pm on Thursday 25th August. Provisionally interviews will be on Thursday 1st September.

Due to the potential number of applicants, we are sorry but we will not be able to enter into correspondence or discussion with unsuccessful candidates.
